Bridge building
Under the laws governing the compliance of buildings and their access for persons with disabilities, RATP decided to make the stations of the RER network, including line A, accessible to people with special needs.
The project involves the creation of an additional access with 2 lifts serving each platform and routes located either side of the railway platform. Stairs complete the connection between the platform and the distribution room. The junction between the streets and elevators is a footbridge that crosses the tracks.
Based on these constraints, the firm optimized the technical programme by designing a "Bridge Building" ensuring that the railway "canyon" could be crossed, thus restoring the urban link between the two sides of the town. To ensure that the crossing respects the rail gauges, the steel bridge structure is supported only by two concrete lateral supports containing the lift shafts. The volume has a rectangular shape and its simplicity allows for on-site prefabrication of the structure on a platform slightly removed from, but parallel to, the tracks. The structure is complemented by the metal casing of the volume composed of a mesh of perforated lozenges.
Once assembled, this group was raised in a single night and placed on two supports.
It is connected to the "banks" of the city and the platforms below by a walkway and stairs in a fine coated steel structure and lift shafts in a "skin" of attached glass.
