Halle habillée
The project’s intention is to use a simple industrial design to create a high quality "town entrance". By extending the familiar template of the existing hall to the roundabout, the building creates a facade on a homogeneous street and connects the developed elements of the site.
The project meets the requirements of the "Business Village" programme by providing spaces for business activities and offices which are convertible and modular, for future industrial tenants.
The structure of the existing hall is composed of an steel frame with an ebony brown lacquer covered with a mesh of clay shingles, which are also brown and full and perforated. In this structure the business surfaces are arranged such that their offset from the reference plane of the facade creates a stepped urban topography, thus avoiding the mass effect of a linear and monotonous facade. The use of clay and the retention of the simple structure of the hall give the project maximum heritage quality.
