Transitions

Sustainable city is the challenge of the 21st century and this challenge starts Cardinet - Chalabre. This new ZAC illustrates the great ambitions of the City of Paris: make a significant and sustainable neighborhood in the heart of the Parisian capital, placing the bar high with buildings at least BBC at best positive to demonstrate that not only is possible, but it is more desirable, quality and contemporary.

The developed program (kindergarten and elementary student housing + 152 + kitchen) called architectural expression able to assert its uniqueness and unity. We implemented, dug, extruded and airy our building to give it a unique morphology conducive to transitions: scale transition, urban transition, generational transition.

Scale transition discontinuous with 5 volumes on different levels such that the bearing structure and soothe both. The "fairly high" for the student residence and "low and familiar" for the school. Transition creepage with frontage on park that says unflinchingly and frontage on lower and airy street that ends curiously with a "totem object" to friendly lines: a madness that tag in a unique way and the dynamic entry into the park.

Very graphic, contemporary and playful, the compact and airy time, the building clearly shows its generational transitions. Down the school and leisure center on the court by two separate and connected by a walkway tributaries function. Over the two sets of student housing: a bar in the North West not intimidated by the imposing stature of the Ibis and the small tower behind the angle visible from all sides.
