At the stadium
The city of Massy wanted to provide its rugby and football teams with changing rooms and stands that could be approved by their respective federations.
The project consists of eight changing rooms with capacity for 210 people. A stand protected by a canopy is installed on each ground.
The layout area is characterized by its narrow width: the facility extends between the rugby and football fields along the bowling area. The facility therefore provides protection from the prevailing winds and participates in the creation of a sports complex.
The stands are accessed via paths that go alongside the grounds. They respect the current routes across the site.
The changing rooms are single-aspect, accessed by linear flows and lit with natural light.A technical gallery groups all the networks and facilitates maintenance. The stands are made of concrete terraces protected by a canopy that seems to unfold as a continuation of the foundations. All of the uniform material and colour is perceived as an element arising from the ground.
This project is interpreted as whole consisting of three separate elements: the changing rooms and the two stands. The relationship between these three elements is achieved through similar treatment that gives the project its unity.
