Transparency and Reflection
Our architectural design takes as its premise the implementation of the new gym in the place of the existing one in order to preserve the public park and the clear visibility and, by aiming at a compact project that promotes good economic and thermal performance, urban development in the presence of a building with serene lines opening its activities on the future "Place Lescot".
The design structures the urban fabric by implantation on alignment. The building highlights the corner of Rue Pierre Lescot and Rue Solferino by creating a strong urban signal and a contemporary architecture visible from the surrounding streets.
The building connects public and private spaces by work on transparencies and reflections. Through the filter of elaborate fences and sunscreens, the areas reveal their activities without being exposed to physical damage or harsh weather conditions. During the day and at night, the project contributes to the life of the district. The main entrance on Rue Lescot is indicated by an arrangement of the ground that is visible from the street. Sporting activity is visible from the street through filters. Moreover, school lessons retain their south-facing orientation with their view over a green landscape.
Rational operation is structured around links favouring the autonomy and multi-functionality of the various design components. School pupil movements are independent and shielded from the public. The architecture supports the environmental approach by staging immediately identifiable elements that contribute directly to the project aesthetics. The photovoltaic roof, thermal sensor, plant waterproofing, sunscreen and sun filter all play a full part in the contemporary appearance of the project. Compactness provides a guarantee of easy implementation by structural optimization that prioritises overlapping functions and flows. The second fix of the facades is applied on the periphery of the envelope and provides a high quality finish.
