Signal convivial
As part of the "Saclay campus uses" operation, strengthening exchanges between groups who normally do not come into contact with each other, through the construction of a quality of life space that pools the shared services of different departments. Friendly and flexible, this space is intended to boost exchanges by mingling different users within a building that offers sports activities and restaurant areas. A place for interaction and life, the project will also be a strong signal of the site to serve as a benchmark and totem of the Cluster.
Our design seeks to provide a "signal" project for Greater Paris which is seeking transparency on the Maison des Ingénieurs, with a compactness that clarifies opportunities and access.
The living space is therefore a showcase project that stages its multiple functions (cafes, restaurants, fitness, bodybuilding and sports grounds) by using wide transparent structures that offer users a unique perspective over the site and over Paris.
The ground floor is limited to restaurants and maximizes transparency, particularly over the nearby Maison des Ingénieurs, and makes the activity of these friendly spaces visible.
The kitchen and utility rooms are distributed on the lower level and are serviced by a large delivery yard sheltered and concealed from direct view. This arrangement makes it easy to connect the restaurant rooms and the technical distributions of the programme from below. The project therefore offers four main facades that are clear of service constraints.
The layout of the two sports grounds at the first level of the restaurant roof and their accessibility by a ramp from the forecourt allows for easy use without going through the building. The third sports ground, for half-court or badminton, located on the top floor terrace, is accessed by a wide corridor that is a natural extension of the ramp.
