THEIR OBJECTIVES WERE CLEAR :
 to get to grips with the morass of environmental regulations and targets;
 to lay the foundations for a new approach to the architectural profession;
 to set the conditions for their intellectual independence in design. | Plan02 embodies their shared belief that sustainable development involves a paradigm shift - a Big Bang Consciousness (BBC)! - which leads to enormous changes in lifestyles, use of buildings and mobility and the consequent development of new urban typologies. Horizon 2050 is highly motivating as it is has now been adopted by all the city’s stakeholders - architects, project owners, politicians, citizens - who are being called upon to change their beliefs and practices. Plan02 is the child of Plan01: the same 10 architects, the same workplace in Paris, between Bastille and Nation, and the same shared culture but with its own range of competences. | Plan02 is an independent company. However it operates exclusively on the environmental project management of the work undertaken by the agencies under the Plan01 label. Environmental considerations are now routine and are addressed through daily exchanges between architects and engineers.
This synergy promotes integrated designs and contributes to the hybridization of projects that now fully blend environmental requirements with architectural tropisms without either taking precedence over the other.
Throughout the projects, Plan02 sets up a library of test data and specifc feedback on the systems implemented. This shared database informs and enriches the subsequent projects taken on by the agencies.
